Capital Campaign to Restore the Grange Hall and Memorial Chapel
November 2024
Dear Neighbor,
Libraries need friends – and we need your help.
We’re excited to launch a fundraising campaign to help our Town restore the Grange Hall and the Memorial Chapel. Both are special historic buildings and are listed on the State and National Register of Historic Places.
Libraries in communities around the state are evolving to fulfill broader public roles by serving as community centers. An expanded library has great potential to become a most inviting place at the heart of our community.
The restored and united Grange Hall and Memorial Chapel will serve as an expanded Town Library and a new and accessible Community Hub on our bucolic Common. It keeps re-purposed historic town buildings surrounding the Common integral parts of our community.
Expanding the Library provides a valuable new space for reference material, local exhibits, and historic book and artifact displays. It also creates space for civic groups to meet and hold events, community functions, and library and speaker programs. Perhaps most exciting, it provides an attractive setting for citizens of all ages and interests to gather and interact with one another.
Hebron citizens have been proud stewards of our historic buildings for over a century. The campaign presents an opportunity to continue this tradition. Are you able to support this incredible cause?
Your gift will help uncover and restore historic finishes, rebuild the connector between the buildings, create a New Entry Way, install an ADA-compliant ramp and bathroom, reinforce structures, upgrade systems and furniture, and restore the concealed but intact magnificent tin-pressed ceilings.
An anonymous donor has made a pledge of $75,000 to match gifts from our community up to that amount. So, any amount you can contribute will make a big difference in achieving this matching gift. All gifts are tax deductible (The Friends of Hebron Library is a 501(c)(3) organization). Please fill out the reply card and send it in today.
Thank you for your generosity and support. Your gift will help ensure our small but mighty library will be here for you now and for generations to come!
Most sincerely,
Donna Luti Gail Howell
